Phil Manzanera is a legendary musician, songwriter and producer, best known as the lead guitarist for Roxy Music, who
were among the seventies' and early eighties' most successful groups. Led by Bryan Ferry, they achieved eighteen UK top
40 hit singles and eighteen top 40 albums, too, including best of compilations. Their famous songs include Love is the Drug,
Dance Away, Virginia Plain, Angel Eyes, Over You and Avalon. He joined them in 1972, after his previous group, Quiet Sun
broke up. Five years-ago, Roxy Music were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The legendary group reunited,
first in 2021, for a series of highly successful tour dates worldwide.
Between 1975 and 2023, he recorded eighteen studio albums, including some with Tim Finn, formerly of Split Enz and
Crowded House, and Andy Mackay of Roxy Music.
In 2006, Phil produced David Gilmour's third and chart-topping album, On an Island. His other work as a producer
included Split Enz's second album, 1975's Second Thoughts. The band supported Roxy Music on their 1974 Australian tour.
Other collaborators include Brian Eno; Phil played guitar on his debut album, Here Come the Warm Jets, Pink Floyd, Steve
Winwood and Robert Wyatt. He also co-produced Rod Stewart and Jools Holland's 2024 number one album, Swing Fever.
In March 2024, he published Revolución to Roxy, a memoir of his life, including his highly prolific career in music. Copies
will be sold and signed at this event.

STEVE DIGGLE
Steve Diggle is the lead vocalist of Buzzcocks, the legendary punk band, formed in 1976. He initially was the bassist and
later became the lead guitarist. After they broke up in the early eighties, he formed another band, Flag of Convenience,
before disbanding in 1989, when Buzzcocks reformed. Steve became the lead singer after the death of frontman Pete
Shelley. The band's most famous songs include What Do I Get? and Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've).
Between 2000 and 2016, he has released four solo albums. Songs written, or that he cowrote, include Harmony in My Head
and Fast Cars. Buzzcocks are still a highly active band; they have toured countless times in recent years and continue to
record music. Steve's memoir, Autonomy: Portrait of a Buzzcock, will be released in August. www.buzzcocks.com
PHIL DAVIS
Phil Davis is a renowned actor, known for a variety of roles in film and television. They include films directed by Mike
Leigh, including Vera Drake, the 45 year-old classic Quadrophenia, Poldark, in its first two seasons, and Sherlock, playing the
villain in its first episode. He also starred in the four series' of the BBC crime drama Whitechapel, as well as films such as
The Bounty, also starring Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins. Recent appearances include Trying, the comedy series for
Apple TV+ and the acclaimed Channel 4 drama Truelove. In 2004, Phil was BAFTA-nominated for Vera Drake and won a
British Independent Film Award for Best Actor, as well as a London Critics Circle Film Award.

JOHN THOMSON
John Thomson is an actor, narrator and a comedian, best known for The Fast Show, which began in 1994, and the ITV
drama comedy Cold Feet. The most famous character he regularly played in the thirty year-old BBC sketch show was Louis
Balfour, the host of "Jazz Club" well known for his catchphrase, "Nice!" He starred in every episode of ITV's Cold Feet, which
was broadcast between 1997 and 2020.
John's many other onscreen appearances included Waterloo Road, Coronation Street, which saw him in sixty-one episodes,
the musical drama Blackpool, also starring David Tennant and David Morrissey, 24 Hour Party People, Playing the Field and
Men Behaving Badly. He is also known for providing voices for a wide range of shows, such as thirty-five Spitting Image
episodes, which included him portraying Michael Portillo and Rupert Murdoch, among others. John has worked on TV
shows with Steve Coogan, from The Day Today to Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge and appeared in some of
Coogan's live shows as compere and comedian Bernard Righton. They both won the Perrier Award in 1992, after
performing together in the Edinburgh Fringe. He is the narrator of the Channel 5 series Police Interceptors.
HUGH PADGHAM
Hugh Padgham is one of the UK's most renowned record producers. He has played a part in the making of many of the
eighties' biggest albums and singles, including for artists such as Phil Collins, Genesis, The Police and Sting, as well as
David Bowie, Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush. He produced five of Collins' albums and many of his singles, including In the Air
Tonight and Sussudio. For The Police, the classics Don't Stand So Close to Me, Every Breath You Take, Every Little Thing She Does
is Magic and Sting's Fields of Gold. Hugh produced much of Genesis' music, including the huge album Invisible Touch and
earlier songs such as Mama and That's All. David Bowie's 1984 album, Tonight, which features Blue Jean and Loving the Alien,
he also was the producer of.
His career has also included production on output from XTC, such as for Senses Working Overtime, Human League,
including Louise, Paul McCartney, producing his 1986 album, Press to Play, engineering Peter Gabriel's third album, as well
as co-engineering Kate Bush's The Dreaming. Hugh later worked with McFly, producing four number one singles for the
band.

JIM SCLAVUNOS
Jim Sclavunos is a multi-instrumentalist musician, record producer and a writer from New York. He has been a member of
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds for thirty years, having joined the band in 1994. His other collaborations have been with the
likes of Sonic Youth, The Cramps, Iggy Pop and Marianne Faithful. As well as writing and recording solo material, too, Jim
cofounded the Bad Seeds' offshoot project Grinderman and has been a highly prolific musician since the seventies with
other bands and artists. His first album with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds was 1996's Murder Ballads, which included the
duet with Kylie Minogue, Where the Wild Roses Grow. He has recorded on a total of ten of their albums, including the latest,
Wild God, released in August 2024.

DANIEL KLEINMAN
Daniel Kleinman has directed many music videos and award-winning television commercials, as well as designing the title
sequences for eight James Bond films. Music videos have included The Pretenders' Middle of the Road, Simple Minds' Don't
You (Forget About Me), Madonna's Dress You Up, Adam and the Ants' Antmusic and Fleetwood Mac's Big Love. Since 1995's
GoldenEye, his Bond title sequences were for, among others, The World is Not Enough, Casino Royale, Tomorrow Never Dies
and No Time to Die. For the latter two, he also directed the music videos for the songs, performed by Sheryl Crow and Billie
Eilish, respectively. His memorable commercials have been for leading brands such as Guinness, Levi's, X-Box, Specsavers
and Audi. In 2006, he cofounded the multi-award-winning production company Rattling Stick, which he still works with.

Dave Eringa has worked closely with the Manic Street Preachers for over 30 years, having a major role in their output,
including as a producer on eight of the band's albums. He played keyborads on 1992's debut, Generation Terrorists, and
performed live with them during the next two years. He was the producer of the second album, Gold Against the Soul,
released in 1993. The 1996 number two single A Design for Life was produced by Dave with Mike Hedges and he was the
sole producer of If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next, which topped the chart in 1998 and was from the This Is My
Truth Tell Me Yours album, which he produced with Mike. 2001's Know Your Enemy, which he worked on, included the
singles So Why So Sad and Found that Soul. The Send Away the Tigers album, released in 2007, which Dave was a producer
on, featured the song Your Love Alone Is Not Enough with The Cardigans' Nina Persson. His later work with the band
included their tenth album, Postcards from a Young Man and he produced the most recent, 2021's The Ultra Vivid Lament.
Dave is currently working on their forthcoming one.
Among others, he has also produced music by Idlewild, Roger Daltrey and Wilko Johnson, The Who, for their 2014 single,
Be Lucky, and Ash's version of Everybody's Happy Nowadays, used in Shaun of the Dead. With the Manic Street Preachers'
lead singer, James Dean Bradfield, he produced Kylie Minogue's 1997 single Some Kind of Bliss and he was a producer on
James's solo album, The Great Western, released eighteen years-ago.

This event will mark 30 years since the release of Dog Man Star, the classic album by Suede and their second, which was
released in October 1994 on Nude Records. It was written by Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler, with its singles being We
Are the Pigs, The Wild Ones and New Generation, which was the first to feature guitarist Richard Oakes. Saul Galpern and
Simon Price will be interviewed together about the album and Suede's continung success.
Saul Galpern is the founder of Nude Records, which he signed Suede to and they were the first act on the independent
label, ahead of their debut and self-titled 1993 album. It gained much acclaim and won the Mercury Music Prize that year.
Later acts on Nude included Geneva and The Jennifers, later known as Supergrass.
Simon Price was the first journalist to interview Suede and has since done so on a number of occasions. He wrote the
sleeve notes for the 30th anniversary editions of Dog Man Star, which will be released on October 4th. He has written
books on Manic Street Preachers and The Cure.
